Pastor Timothy (name changed) is an elderly pastor in China. Together with the young and old of his congregation, he prays for the police officers as they demolish the church, counting firmly on God’s answer to prayer.

In the midst of pressure and persecution that China’s Christians experience every day, they all count on the power of prayer. Over the past twelve months, he says, the police have made life difficult for them, regularly disrupting services and destroying underground churches.

“But they must be really frustrated because we just love them in return. We have been trained to be polite, never to hit back, even when they get violent,” Pastor Timothy says.
